In het Bouwbesluit 2003 werd een apart deel gewijd aan het begrip “hoofddraagconstructie” en “brandwerendheid hoofddraagconstructie bij brand”. In de nieuwe NEN normering wordt dit begrip weggelaten. Echter, de brandwerendheid van de hoofddraagconstructie is nog altijd een belangrijk punt, de eisen rondom de brandveiligheid en hoofddraagconstructies worden nu omschreven in overeenstemming met de eisen zoals we die uit het oude Bouwbesluit kennen.

Brandwerendheid hoofddraagconstructie
De functionele eis rondom de hoofddraagconstructie brandwerendheid en functionaliteit is een duidelijke: “Een te bouwen bouwwerk is dusdanig geconstrueerd dat zij aanwezigen voldoende kans geeft om het pand in geval van brand veilig te verlaten, zonder dat er sprake is van instortingsgevaar.” Hier zijn voorschriften voor opgesteld. Er wordt daarbij gekeken naar de functie van het gebouw en of het nieuwbouw of bestaande bouw betreft. Feitelijk worden er normeringen gegeven omtrent de duur waarin compartimenten en constructies bestand moeten blijven tegen brand. De brandwerendheid van de hoofddraagconstructie vormt hierin een belangrijke component.

Hoofddraagconstructie brandwerendheid eisen en regelgeving
De eisen omtrent brandveiligheid van gebouwen (woningen, instellingen en kantoren) zijn vastgelegd in het Bouwbesluit. De brandwerendheid hoofddraagconstructie komt er als dusdanig niet langer in voor, maar de eisen over de functionaliteit van constructies en de brandwerendheid van deze constructies blijven duidelijk omschreven. Waarbij er verschil wordt gemaakt tussen nieuwbouw, verbouw en bestaande bouw. Het gaat dan specifiek om de brandwerendheid van draagconstructies met betrekking tot bezwijken. Dat is anders dan de brandwerendheid met betrekking tot de geboden weerstand tegen branddoorslag en brandoverslag (de wbdbo). Bij de brandwerendheid tegen bezwijken (instorten) gaat het om de tijd dat een bepaalde constructie bestand is tegen de belasting die erop wordt uitgevoerd. Om te kunnen berekenen hoe de (hoofd)draagconstructie zich gedraagt bij verhitting wordt de standaard brandcurve ingezet. Naast de standaard curve zijn er andere brandcurven te gebruiken. We adviseren veel bedrijven om de brandwerendheid door te rekenen. Neem hiervoor advies met ons op.
